New Straightner

So with the shorter haircut, I bought one of those small straightners, hoping it might save me some days from the blow dryer.  Well, it won't fix roots that have gone astray (read bed head) but it does make for a really sleek look.  It's only a very slight difference from not straightned, but as it gets longer, I think it will show more.

Now the call goes out to all you ladies.  Are you growing out your hair?  Did you donate recently?  I was thinking it would be fun to have people send in their ideas for cute short hair or those in-between grow out tips so that people who are considering donating their hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths can get tips.  What do you think?  Have something to share?  Send it to 100hairstyles@gmail.com

Looking forward to it!

Curling Iron Envy

Just cause I have short hair, it's no reson to neglect my curling iron, don't you think?

Recognition

I can't believe I did this, but I forgot to thank the ladies who came out to support the event on Saturday!

Thanks Ladies!  You turned a haircut into an event!

There's Missy (& Rita of course...)
And her girls Jac & Taylor

And Danette - who stayed behind the camera for the whole thing.  So I'll have to post a pic from our holiday party...

More Inspiration

And the pictures keep coming in of people who donated to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths this weekend!

Lisa, a cancer survivor, says:
Well here's some pics from my parents phone. Feel free to post any 1 or all :) I will put some b4 & after photo's up soon since my hair is naturally curly but my last profile pic was with it straight.

P.S. Isn't amazing how light your head feels after a cut like that?? :)

Look at all that hair!!

Beautiful Cut!

Pantene's going to be happy with all that hair!

And Molly, who donated in honor of my Aunt and Grandmother who are both Breast Cancer survivors, shows off her new look.

Before

Wow!

And a donator in Atlanta says:
Hi -- I just saw your hair cut photo -- it's beautiful -- the cut and the generosity it represents.

I live in Atlanta and discovered your blog yesterday morning. I have twice donated my hair to Beautiful Lengths in the past 5 years and was considering doing it for a third time next week. Your blog was the tipping point -- I got my hair cut yesterday and my donation pony tail is on its way to someone whom, I hope, will find it comforting as she works on cancer treatment. So, thanks! Enjoy your new cut!

Great work ladies!!!

Bye Bye Hair!

Here it is... the last hairstyle before the cut.  I know, it's boring, but you're not supposed to have styling products when you donate, plus - gotta show the length, right?

Tommorow's the Day!

So with tomorrow being the big cut, I thought some more inspiration was due...

Katie in Dallas, Tx says "I am not my hair" and it will grow back! It's such an amazing feeling giving someone a gift like that.

Heather also donated her hair on Jan 28 for her birthday!  What a birthday present!

4 days left... Inspiration

Sorry "y'all" something went wrong with the previous post...  try again.

So in the days leading up to the cut, I think inspiration is appropiate. We've had a few women donate so far, so I'll be posting those pics. There are 2 of you who posted to the event page, I will be posting those pics to the blog in the next couple days, so if you want to include a write up, send it to 100hairstyles@gmail.com and I'll post it with your pics. Donna sent in her story, below. Look at that happy smile - must be the good feeling from doing such a great thing!

Your hair looks great!!

I know it's taken forever for me to get these to you, I apologize! Okay, so it's only been since Friday. That's forever for me! I've included 2 before shots, front and back, and a couple of after shots - just choose your faves to post!!

I'd also love for you to post the name of my fabulous stylist, Larissa Detwiler of Choppers Salon in Childress, Texas. She's coaxed and babied me these past years while I've grown my hair out, and she did a terrific job on my cut! My ponytails ended up being 9" long! Woo HOOO!!

8 Days Left

With all the snow, I can barely think of anything but the spring.  My hair hasn't been out of a rubber band for most of the week.  I am excited for the big cut though, so I decided to do a poll - which one do you like the best.  No promises... I still pick, but I'm interested to know what you think.  There are 5 in the running.

Either way Pantene Beautiful Lengths will be getting a good 8-10" of my hair next saturday!

This one is fairly high maintenance, and I'm not sure how many things I can do to make it different, but it's pretty... or is it just that the girl is pretty?

It's kind of hard to see exactly what's going on here, but it looks like a cute & easy cut.

I like the piecy texture here.

This ones still one of my favorites.  But then again, any hairstyle looks good on Jessica Alba.

12 Days Left

12 Days left, and I can't hardly wait!  I'm really anxious to get the new cut.  The cutting event is looking less and less like an event... and more like a couple girls getting their hair cut together.  Thank goodness for you girls in other states joining along!!  Either way, Pantene Beautiful Lengths will have a few more ponytails to use in the wig making and I'll have had a great time with the blog.

It's been snowing up here (haven't you heard) so I haven't been really dilligent about posting.  Here's the last few days.

19 Days Left! Ol' Faithful

OK - I've definitely done this one before... see day 29  What can I say?  100 different hairstyles wore me out.  Tomorrow's is different though.

Since I owe you something more than the same old hairstyle, here's a post about How To Keep A Short Haircut From Going Soccer Mom from Glamour's website.  You know I love them for hair ideas, so I will be watching for good ideas.

And lastly, don't forget the hair cutting event - February 20th @ In The Village (856-223-1775) for Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program.  Right now, we have 3 attendees (with 2 more maybes) - looking for a few more!

23 Days Left

Today's style, I'm sure I've done before... I can't find an exact match, but there are a few similar.

23 days left till the Pantene Beautiful Lengths Hair Cuttting event at In The Village!

24 Day Left - Easy Parcheesy

This is litterally how I woke up (minus the makup of course).  I brushed my fingers through a few places, used a bit of Pantene's spray wax, but because I had my hair all twisted the night before, it came out nice & wavy!  Love easy styles.

Don't forget - 24 days till the hair cutting event for Pantene Beautiful Lengths!

26 Days Left - Criss Cross Remixed

Day 30 was one of my favorite hairstyles, I thought it was sooo fun!  So I decided to do it with curls.  Turned out nice, don't you think?

Also - I got this comment from theblondgenius:

Love the flyers - but I must admit I'll miss this blog. I've been growing my hair out for Pantene for over 2 years now. I'm having it cut off on Feb. 12th, a nod to Valentine's Day. You've given me great ideas for different styles. It's been fun playing with it, but when people ask me how I can bear cutting it off after growing it out for so long, my answer is always, "It's not my hair - I've just been taking care of it for someone else."

So here's what I've been thinking.  Instead of just stopping the blog, maybe I'll update it once a week as I grow out my hair.  I was thinking of finding other people who also wanted to post their growing out hairstyles.  It would be encouragement, especially when we get to those hard to deal with phases... what do you think?

And I looove her answer.  Think about that ladies, you could give the gift of hair to a women with cancer.

Here's some flyers that I'm going to post around to try to get some more participation in the hair cutting event.  What do you think?

28 Day Left - Simple Braid

I've been concentrating on the actual hair cutting event lately, so that hasn't left a lot of time to think of new dos.  Here's the do from today, I know, not very creative, but I have been using my creativity for the promotion of the hair cutting event on February 20th.

As a reminder, it's at In the Village, Mullica Hill NJ and supports Pantene Beautiful Lengths Program.  It looks like there will also be at least one person donating in Georgia & one in Arizona!

So here's some of the things I'm planning to use to promote the event.

32 Days Left - Poufy Pippi

Ahh, the crutch of changable bangs.  I did braids on day 14, but with the bangs to the side... this time, I added a pouf.

33 Days Left!

So I've decided to start counting down... to the hair cut!  It's official, the big cut will happen on February 20, 2010, probably from 2-4 PM.  In the Village will be hosting the event, and of course, the donations will go to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths Program.  For more details on signing up to donate, click here.

So - here's hairstyle for 33 days to go.

I know, it's boring, but I needed a break.  So I decided to show how much hair is required to make a donation

The ruler measures 8" long, so you can see that I will have to cut my hair to around chin length for the donation.  Not too bad!

What's funny is the accidental picture.  I was trying to get a picture of the back of my hair to really show the length, but as I was turning my head, I hit the shutter.  Tell me this doesn't look like I want to be on a Pantene commercial!
