Tommorow's the Day!

So with tomorrow being the big cut, I thought some more inspiration was due...

Katie in Dallas, Tx says "I am not my hair" and it will grow back! It's such an amazing feeling giving someone a gift like that.

Heather also donated her hair on Jan 28 for her birthday!  What a birthday present!

12 Days Left

12 Days left, and I can't hardly wait!  I'm really anxious to get the new cut.  The cutting event is looking less and less like an event... and more like a couple girls getting their hair cut together.  Thank goodness for you girls in other states joining along!!  Either way, Pantene Beautiful Lengths will have a few more ponytails to use in the wig making and I'll have had a great time with the blog.

It's been snowing up here (haven't you heard) so I haven't been really dilligent about posting.  Here's the last few days.

27 Days Left

Here's some flyers that I'm going to post around to try to get some more participation in the hair cutting event.  What do you think?

Day 95 - French Twister

Danette loves to buy me those tools that you see in the drug store and always want to try, but can't bring yourself to buy.  Today, I tried out the "French Twister".  It seemed like a good fit because I went swimming early in the morning & needed a quick hairstyle before work.

I have to say I didn't expect to use it when I first got it (sorry Danette) but it was a GREAT quick hairstyle.  I had to practice a few times first.  Luckily I tried it the night before.  This morning, first shot is what I left all day.  And this pic is at the end of the day.  I have to say I give it two thumbs up!  tonytail.com

P.S. to give my hair some texture & lift, I used Pantene's Root Lifting Spray.

Day 91 - NYE (Canary Doodle)

So, I mentioned that the NYE Party was a Bond theme and that I was picking from some Bond Girl pics I found online.  A Pantene Beauty Maven, Ashley gave me some tips (see below) on the style from Casino Royale, so I decided to try that one.  The name Canary Doodle came from my hubby thinking the hair looked like a poodle & that my shirt was canary colored...

Here's the quote from Ashley (I modified it a bit, so what I did is at the very bottom)
Hey, it's Ashley the Pantene Beauty Maven-- And I love these looks! They are so glamorous and fun! I love the bottom style from Casino Royale. It seems like she has subtle flirty curls, and those are always a hit! Here are a few steps to help achieve this look!
1.Start with Pantene Ice Shine Shampoo and conditioner to leave hair clean and shiny
2.Part wet hair, apply Ice Shine Mousse and blow dry.
3.Section hair and spray with Ice Shine Hairspray before wrapping hair in a tight spiral pattern around a curling iron. To get fuller curls, start at your crown and wrap hair around the iron.
4.Continue to curl while periodically tousling and pulling curls gently downward to loosen.

Hope this helps!!! Have a Happy New Year!! Follow us @Pantene!

Since I didn't have all the Ice Shine Products, I used what I had.

I started by using some Full & Thick Mousse and the Smooth Serum in damp hair.  I'm really thinking the smooth serum is what gave my hair that Pantene shine.
I blow-dried my hair upside down for volume, and then use velcro rollers and shots of hot & cold air to increase the volume.
I then did layers of curls as recommended above starting from the bottom back & working my way to the front.  (I find that if I do the front first, I'm bored by the time I get to the back, but if I start in the back, I HAVE to pay attention to the front cause it's the front!)  After each layer of curls, I sprayed them with the classis non-aresol hairspray.
I waited for all the curls to be completely cold & dry (from the hairspray)
I flipped my head upside down and shook out the curls.
I then smoothed out the curls (with my head rightside up) with my hands.

Best of all, it made for some great morning after hair!

Hair-athon Styles21-30

In efforts to support Pantene's Beautiful Lengths Program, I've been doing a hair-athon - a marathon of hairstyles and asking for support.  To support, donate your hair, help me find people who have hair long enough to donate or donate to American Cancer Society.
I'm up to day 80 and I'm on a business trip and I'm not sure how much access I'll have to a computer.  So, I've decided to do a mini-recap of the styles so far.  And since I've moved the date of my hair donation from December 22 to February 20 to allow people time to sign up, I need ideas of interesting posts, so here's styles 21 - 30 for those who may not have seen them.

Day 21 - Right Hand Blue Left Foot Red (Twister)

Day 22 - Salty Sea Dog

Day 23 - Half Pouf

Day 24 - Knotted Side Noodle

Day 25 - Pocohantas on a Rope

Day 26 - Headband Harry

Day 27 - (Day 26)  This is the day I couldn't count, and I didn't figure it out till day 40!

Day 28 - Half Heidi

Day 29 - Princess Buttercup

Day 30 - Sheila's Croissant

Day 79 - Danette's Poufy Pony

So Danette was shopping & found this tool called the "Poufy Pony"  It's basically a comb you stick in your ponytail to give it "poufiness"

Only problem is that the hair doesn't stay all the way put on top of the comb

We thought maybe some teasing or hairspray might help next time.

Here's the comb.

I also used the full & thick Mousse from Pantene again.  I think one of the upcoming hairstyles will be a volumized blow-out.  You can't tell from these picture, but it really does add a lot of volume.

Day 78 - The Other Katrina

So I was running out of hairstyles & another Katrina suggested "Side sweep where you pin up the side of your hair that you part toward, but not the other side."  Although I think I actually got it backwards... oh well!  Now it's a two day idea!
I also used some of my new Pantene products this morning, while it was wet the Full & Thick Mousse & the Smooth Serum & then the Classic Hairspray at the end.  I loved the volume I got, and the smooth serum really made my hair soft.  Would recommed them!
