Mens Fashion Cloting: Dress Shirt Fitting Standards

Mens Fashion clothing is incomplete without proper fitting and comfort level of a shirt. There are not too many reasons of discomfort of a dress shirt. The one major reason is discomfort of a shirt when it is buttoned at neck. People are used to hear that “It is Choking me” just because they have buttoned the collar. People usually do not know that the size of their neck changes with their waist. A shirt which a man has been wearing two years ago may fit every where except neck.  Shirts in well fitting neither choke nor make a man feel discomfort.

Collar Size: Wearing a shirt having a collar size so large that u can stick two of your fingers between your neck and collar. To take a correct measure take a loose tape measure of your neck from the point where your collar center. However it should not exceed more than that because otherwise it will look like straw in a bottle. Dress shirts can be measured using the following procedure.

Cuff Size:  You can measure your wrist easily by tape. But if you wear a wrist watch your cuff size must be 0.25-0.5 inch wider than your normal cuff size.

Shoulder Size: Shoulder of a shirt must start just from the drop of a shoulder from left side to the drop of the shoulder on the right side. It should neither be longer than it nor smaller that it because if it is longer it will damage the look and if it is smaller it will not be any more comfortable.

Chest: Chest must be measured with arms down and relaxed body to get a comfortable and good looking shirt.

Waist: Waist must be measured from fullest part of the body and it should be maximum two inch wider than original measure.

Sleeve Size: Sleeve must start just before the fall of a shoulder and ends just 1.5 inch before the start of little finger.

Important Note: Measuring any part of the body with tape you must put at least one finger must be between tape and your body to get a comfortable and perfectly fitted finished shirt
